Focus on MEMBERS not the Community

I didn't join the BECU because it is a big community supporter. You CAN'T support ALL of the communities that BECU members live in. So stop trying.

Instead -- support YOUR MEMBERS.

Offer more paper-shredding events (for Members Only) at many, many more locations. Not just Tukwila and Everett. Like Covington, Issaquah, Redmond, etc
Offer more incentives to SAVE!! Do this with higher rates.
Offer larger percentages OFF of rates on NEW CARS when purchased during a sale.
Offer FREE PRINTED CHECKS. (limit 200 per year per person)
Host a recycling event (for Members Only).
Sponsor a DENTAL PLAN with reduced rates (for Members Only). This is a HUGE shortcoming to The BOEING COMPANY'S retirement plan.

Do you get the drift? Support the MEMBERS -- Not the community. Happier, and weathier, members will support the community!!

@BillB- We're always looking for new and better ways to support our members and appreciate your suggestions! We're currently exploring ways to deliver additional member value, including expanded locations for our popular shred/e-cycle event. Our Neighborhood Financial Centers on the Eastside are too small to accommodate the large scale event and we haven't found a location yet that would work- but we've been actively looking! I am involved with a number of organizations and occasionally I need to find places for large gatherings.

Here are three that I think would be good possibilities for a SHREDDING EVENT.

Note that you might need to offer a minor fee to these organizations for use of their lot (~$100 or $150???)

VFW Post 2995 ~ 4330 148th Ave NE, Redmond, WA 98052 ~ (425) 883-2995

(Large parking lot with easy drive-thru)

Renton Senior Activity Center -211 Burnett Avenue North, Renton, WA ` 425-430-6633

(might need to deal with the city. But dang it -- Renton IS Boeing.)

Value Village Thrift Store, 5530 E Lake Sammamish Pkwy SE, Issaquah, WA 98029

(Large parking lot. Good advertising for this new store.)
