I wonder if some brilliant software techie could devise a default screen to show whenever an ATM needs service.
The way it is now, the ATM sometimes looks like it is working normally, unless someone puts a note on it.
Often, staff in the Neighborhood Center are busy with customers & it is awkward to interrupt them to let them know
the ATM needs servicing. Or if it is after hours, I for one usually do not have scotch tape in my pocket with me.
Could there be an auto-alert to the servicing people that the ATM needs attention instead of needing a phone call?
By the way, I appreciate that my Neighborhood Center has TWO ATMs so usually both of them don't go out at the same time.
I appreciate the thought behind your idea, @BrainstormPal. All of our ATMs are monitored 24x7x365 for outages and have the capability (in most cases) to reboot the machine remotely to fix the issue. If that doesn't work, a service technician is dispatched to fix the issue within 48 hours. Normally, we don't post signs on the machines because they are usually functioning for other transactions. For example, if the machine is full and can't accept any more deposits, members can still make withdrawals and transfers.
